*What i did is just made up some cupcakes-{only filling the batter 1/4 of the way or less}
*when the cupcakes had cooled, i cut the bottoms off, leaving just the half dome tops.
*Then put two of the tops together with a dollop of frosting
No...they don't look as pretty as macarons--but they look kinda similar--and were easy peezy.
i was just experimenting...

SO next time i think i will color the cake mix and frosting for some extra good times~

Look at you and this awesomeness!! If I could reach through the screen and grab a few of these I would.
YUM!!
Okay, question: how do you get those bows to stay in Nora's hair? It doesn't look clipped in this picture.. do you use maple syrup or something?? :) I think I heard that one from my grandma, but just might try it!
looks so good - especially the way you have them delightfully set up!
Yummy! And your presentation is sooo cute! Doesn't it seem like summer just gets better? Can't wait for July 4th!!!! Have a great day, girlie, and PLEASE eat a few of those goodies for me! MMMMM!

I too have wanted to try the macaroon but never have done so. What a great idea Shar! They look delicious. Swimming was fun yesterday...so fun to see that little Nora, she is a doll!
those turned out soo cute!
Those look super yummy!
This is such a good idea! I've been wanting to make macaroons but have been hesitant also. I like the idea of coloring the cake first and just doing cupcake halves. Also that flower is beautiful and so is the white runner!! Your pictures are lovely.
Mmm, those look yummy!! I'm loving your darling cake/cupcake plates too, so cute!! Last weekend was the bomb for swimming...the weather was amazing!! Glad you had fun!!

To be honest, I've never had a macaroon, but I know for a fact cupcakes are delicious, so I think I'd make your kind, just to be on the safe side!

What a great idea! They sound really good right about now too!! Look at Miss N lookin' so cute!
You're so crafty.
And smart--my lil' sis and I made macaroons once and it was quite the task. Making almond flour, piping all of those perfect circles. Yeah, it was a doozy. A delicious doozy. But a doozy, nonetheless.
Also-those party pics you've stuck in there are darling. And that vase is so adorable. Kudos all around.
Is that confetti frosting i spy in there?? Oh my~ one of my fav's:) Way to go, they look adorably delicious, and I'll bet the kiddos thoroughly enjoyed.
Those are great macaroon knockoffs, super cute.
I'm salivating!
