{how to trap a leprechaun}

i have never really done anything for st. patty's day....that is until this year. Caleb was so excited about it all (being all big in kindergarten and such)-i thought it would be fun to do a lil something. You see he came home earlier in the week and told me how we HAD to wear green on St. Patrick's day or we would get pinched, and that if we trapped a leprechaun, he would have to give us all of his gold---nice! so, he set up a leprechaun trap. He got his little suitcase, put some bread with peanut butter inside, put a green towel over it, and put it on a green{ish} rug. oh, and wrote a sign on the front--fool proof! he was all set! so in lieu actual st. patty's day, we decided to have a picnic with all things green. we wanted to have it outside, but oh yeah--it's UT, and still a bit chilly for such things...boo! whatev-- we parked our blanket inside, and had lil green lunch before school. Green PB sandwhiches, green apples, and some treats that had a lil green on them. The kids loved it, and i love being able to celebrate these holidays with my babes~ i also love how c and Z are bff's. they play all day together. z adores caleb, and copies everything he does--(and wrestles him..the chick is tough) Caleb is so patient and sweet to both his sisters--he has a lot of girls to put up with--some more spicy than others...we won't name names:)

do i talk about dishes a lot? ha! hmmm...well here i go again....since we are talking green and all--i sort of have a thing for jadeite/green milk glass. i have been wanting to add a jadeite cake stand to my collection for a while. i know, i know...but at least it's not white...right? baby steps:) you can find some great ones {here} & {here}, and they have some amazing pieces on ebay. ~ps--did you see allegra's pretty cake atop one of these babies? adorable:)

*gasp* My mom used to collect all of that greenware. I always loved it!!! I know she had a cake stand that I'm trying to get my pretty little hands on from my sister-in-law. I don't have another green thing in my kitchen, but I LOVED that cake stand. :-)

I don't know if we even wore green for St. Pat's day...no, I don't think we did. Boring to us!

Love Z's apple chomps that avoid the skins. Sneaky lil' gal.

Milk glass of all colors appeals to me. Especially the hobnail variety. I'm currently on the lookout for a pink one-very sweet.

Random, semi-related fact: I once read that Kelsey Grammer (Frasier) collects milk glass. Hmmm, should that change my opinion of him or the milk glass?

Also, I absolutely love the fact that Caleb is such a sweetie to his sisters. That kid is going to make one great husband one day! Plus, he is so darn handsome!

I remember those days and how I always wanted to catch one too ... I'm glad you make ur kids' lives so magical and fun ... you're a great mommy and your family is very lucky to have you ;)

Oooh, thanks for the tip! (Although Pete would probably say-no thanks!).

As for the blue ones...I got mine about 6 years ago when Down East carried Martha By Mail stuff. I think it was $12 and a lady tried to wrestle it away from me-not kidding.

I just tried searching around for deals online and the cheapest that I could find was $28 for a blue one. It was on ebay. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Sorry, not much help. However, I'd happily lend mine to you anytime! I'm all about getting use out of my party supplies.

P.S. I can't seem to get Nora's yellow flowered headband with the blue striped ribbon out of my head. Where did you snag that guy? Please don't tell me that you made it.
