{hello february}

happy feb all. i like this chilly month...birthdays, valentines day.... It always seem like there are some fun happenings going on.
anyhoos, I am a big fan of the green smoothie. I try to have one a day--Great for breakfast, or a lil snack.. I kind of like getting all these fruits and veggies in one glass of gloop. Don't be fooled by their sludge like appearance, because it tastes surprisingly good. ...

There are tons of different ways to make these, and i kinda go by what i have on hand. or what is in season/ good at the local costco
this is how i like mine lately..
1 frozen banana--peel and slice before freezing
1-1/2 cup of vanilla almond milk
1 of the individual containers of the Chobani greek yogurt--{the very berry kind is what i use most}
1 cup of blueberries and 1 cup strawberries
a handful of ice
and then fill the blender the rest of the way with baby spinach
--you can also add flaxseed or PB as well. The beauty is--everybody likes different things--so heck--add whatever fruit you have/like......you can't go wrong. delicious.
The small fries are a fan too.
lots of the health goodness....

I have been slowly trying to get the playroom put together, so i finally hauled my trash to IKea (and had to drive home in a horrible blizzard) to get some things i have been needing---one of which was these frame shelves that i made into bookshelves. They have a lip, are very long, and easily fit a couple rows of books. I like that the kiddos can see the books, and easily reach them. IKea--you are cool and cheap.

I have turned into a smoothie freak!! I love Greek yogurt now and love making new combos. Plus, Miles will eat them and then we don't have to fight about veggies. Haha!

Smoothies are my favorite way to start the day although with the weather getting somewhat cold, I'm much more into oats right now :) We add kale or spinach to ours and then Ben throws in everything but the kitchen sink - sometimes they taste AMAZING and sometimes we choke them down.

Oh and that picture of all the ballet flats?!? Dreamy. Can you imagine finding all those pretties in your closet??

Green smoothies are awesome, so nice to get some veggies in first thing in the morning. I need to add spinach to my grocery list and start making them again! The bookshelves look awesome too- perfect how it's a shelf and display all in one. How cute Miss Zoee has spring fever!! I can't say I blame her!! Hope you have a fantastic birthday this week...don't worry you will ROCK the 30's!! :)

I'm a huge green smoothie fan but mine seem to turn out more brown than green. Ha! I add the frozen mixed berries from Costco, maybe that's why. Despite the color, they sure taste good.

And the Jcrew spring fashion is adorable. I'm loving all the bright colors. Makes me excited for some sunshine!

Love everything! Wish I could bring myself to make more smoothies--I think I despise assembling / disassembling the blender every time for just one smoothie. Just got those shelves for Harper's room last month, love them! Happy almost birthday!

I would die without my Vita Mix blender. We smoothie it up pretty much daily around here. I gotta get more greens in there. For some reason, it is hard for me to remember about adding in the spinach. Thanks for the tips!

I too love Instagram. Makes me wish for an iphone. :) Looks like you had a pretty smashing birthday too. That is just wonderful!
