{a run & some sun}

ogden marathon does it again~ i love this race, such a gorgeous course. I have run in either the half or full marathon the past 5 years--so i guess it has really become a tradition, and always marks the beginning of summer~ The race was this past Saturday, and the weather couldn't have been better--shocker--since you never know what you are going to get here in UT--crazy sauce!
Anyhoo-- I just did the half this year, i finished in 1:36 {7:18 pace} It was not a PR for me, but i was happy.... I was sick the whole week before, and wasn't feeling top notch that day--why does that have to happen race week? boo! such is life:) i did place in my age group, and got to see a lot of friends i haven't seen in a while:) My sis and dad also ran the half. I was So excited for my sis, because she hasn't been able to run for years due to an injury. She finally started to feel better, and she really put in the miles for this half marathon! she did awesome! { and she just signed up for her first marathon--woot woot!} The first race of the season is always a blast! I have to say thanks to my hubs--he always supports me in my time consuming passions. He is front and center at all of my races, and my biggest fan-luv you!
I am so looking forward to summer training, trail runs, and upcoming races---now bring on the sun~

in other news--we had a great day at the park earlier this week. z has been obsessed with the baby ducks at the pond, and we have been to see them a couple of times--the girl can't get enough.--and caleb? all he wants is to find a caterpillar. he always wants to watch the videos (on youtube) where the caterpillars turn onto butterflies. what can i say--my kids love creatures. did you know you can order caterpillars through the mail? yep--takes them 6 weeks to turn to butterflies--yes we have looked it up--cool beans, right?

z says she looks like belle with her hair up like this-princess alert! ah this girl--she is the sweetest little nut. Lately when she is mad, and doesn't get her way (she is so stubborn--wonder where she gets that?...i haven't the faintest) she will fold her arms, stomp her little foot and say--"then i'm not going to be your friend anymore! and end it with a hmph!" it's hard not to laugh--b/c honestly it's pretty hilarous. Where do they get these things??

caleb--mister personality--so fun and outgoing--and really such a sweet soul. he takes care of all of the sassy girls in his life, and i couldn' t love him more....i love how he asks me endless questions {most the time} about anything and everything, how he talks and waves to everyone, and how when i pick him up from kindergarten he will strike up a conversation with--so, what did you today that was fun? ha! he is an oldest child:)

{my niece} z's besty and sister cousin miss mylee--this chick is hilarious~she just has this cute little personality. She is also a princess like Z. They sure are cute together! Can't believe Mylee is turning 4 this week.

the girl is sporty spice--check the toned little legs! she is so fearless-- climbs on everything, will try pretty much anything, is not afraid to pick up a bug or two, and wrestles caleb--i love it~

i am excited to hang out with these guys all summer~
