Ragnar Relay--Wasatch Back

Logan to Park City--180 miles--FUN FUN FUN!! This weekend I did the Wasatch back with my Dad, my cousins, and some friends.--It was honestly so much fun. You have a team of 12 and have it divided into 6 people in 2 seperate caravans. Then you take turns doing your routes--each person usually runs 3 legs in total--all at different times throughout the route, and different miles. The first six would run their legs-- and then their team would get to rest while the other team of 6 would run their individual legs. So we started on Fri, and then we ended it Saturday around noon. The route was so gorgeous! we got to run up by Deer Valley, Snowbasin--there were some amazing views. Also-there were about 400 teams this year--tons of people! My routes included going up old Snowbasin road--which was pretty much straight uphill the whole time---good thing I had been doing hill training :), my next leg was 2 o'clock in the morning around a lake, and then I got to finish it in Park City on Sat.
What made it so fun was that everyone had their team names, and had their team shirts they had made-- and people just got way into it-- decorated their vans and SUV's (one of the names we saw was--rapid thigh movement--we were laughing at all the great names and stuff people came up with) When you handed off to each runner, you would support them--you would drive up a mile or so and cheer them on, and get them what they needed. You can imagine how crazy it got with all the teams on the roads. We ended up only getting about 3 hours of sleep that night, but we had lots of laughs, and it was so much fun! Our team killed it, and we got awesome times--I can't wait for next year!! Thanks for the invite Kelley and Rob--it was Awesome! Here are a few picts from our final race day!

There were runners and caravans EVERYWHERE hoggin' up the road :) That does sound like a way fun thing to do! Especially if you can do it with people you know. Awesome. Congrats. Inspiring!

I know Leash--I was sad I didn't have my shirt! I was the last runner, so I didn't have time to get it before my turn, and then the car was too far for me to get it after for picts!! so sad!!

Interesting... I'd always wondered how those runs worked. Running around a lake at 2 in the morning sounds really, really cool.... almost relaxing in a way.

Okay, so I really had no idea that it was so hard! I talked to my sister, and she said it was soo grueling. You made it sound easy! Kudos to you, I am so proud that you are my friend!
