I don't know if you have heard of Randy Pausch and The Last Lecture...He has recently appeared on Primetime and Oprah for his awesome, and inspirational Last Lecture. He was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, and his lecture has become world renown because of his amazing attitude and love of life. His lecture.."really achieving your childhood dreams--isn't about dying. It was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of other, and seizing every moment. It is about living. He is a father of 3 young children and he goes on to say how devastated he is that he will not be here to catch his kids when they fall, but that he is building a net, and that his last lecture was for them. The coolest part of the talk however is the attitude and the advice. He says, the reason there are brick walls between you and what you want (that you seem to smack up against time and again) are to help seperate you from the people who don't really want it that bad. They are an opportunity to show how committed you are. He also says that after achieving his own dreams, all he wanted to do was help other people achieve theirs.
It is so amazing and inspiring, and I recommend all of you getting his book The Last Lecture, or watching it on u-tube! It just makes you realize how precious life is-- and to enjoy every minute, and make a difference. I couldn't help but to weep! You'll love it, and be inspired to do better everyday.."we cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the game."
